State Bank of India Extends Special Fixed Deposit Schemes: Amrit Kalash and Amrit Vrishti
The State Bank of India (SBI) has extended its popular fixed deposit schemes—Amrit Kalash (400 days) and Amrit Vrishti (444 days)—until March 31, 2025. Initially set to expire on September 30, 2024, these schemes now give customers more time to take advantage of attractive interest rates.
Amrit Kalash Scheme (400 Days)
Launched in February 2023, the Amrit Kalash scheme offers a 7.10% interest rate for general customers and 7.60% for senior citizens. This special deposit scheme has been extended multiple times due to its popularity, and customers can now invest in it until March 31, 2025.
Amrit Vrishti Scheme (444 Days)
Introduced in July 2024, the Amrit Vrishti fixed deposit scheme offers even higher returns. General customers earn an interest rate of 7.25%, while senior citizens benefit from a 7.75% rate. Like the Amrit Kalash scheme, the deadline for investing in Amrit Vrishti has been extended to March 31, 2025.
Additional Long-Term Deposit Options
For those looking for longer-term investments, SBI also offers interest rates on fixed deposits of 1111 days and 1777 days at 6.15% for amounts above Rs. 2 crore. A 2222-day deposit yields a 5.90% interest rate.
SGRTD Scheme for Senior Citizens
SBI’s SGRTD scheme is specifically designed for senior citizens. It provides a 7.15% interest rate on retail deposits for 1111 and 1777 days, while a 2222-day retail deposit offers a 7.40% interest rate. For deposits exceeding Rs. 2 crore, the interest rates are 6.55% for 1111 and 1777 days, and 6.40% for 2222 days.
These special fixed deposit schemes are a great opportunity for both general customers and senior citizens to earn higher returns on their savings until March 2025.
